Tour Plan
Approx. 7 hours drive
We begin your 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech by heading south into the Middle Atlas Mountains. After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up for an exciting journey filled with changing landscapes and vibrant culture.
Our first stop is the town of Ifrane, often called the “Little Switzerland” of Morocco. It’s known for its European-style houses, clean streets, and snow in winter. Then we pass through Azrou, home to cedar forests and wild Barbary macaques — a great photo opportunity!
From here, we continue to Midelt for a relaxed lunch break. This small town is surrounded by apple orchards and mountain views.
In the afternoon, we drive through the scenic Ziz Valley, where tall palm trees and small kasbah villages line the riverbanks. You’ll start to feel the desert vibe as the landscapes shift and the horizon opens up.
We arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert, just in time to relax and soak in the views before the real desert experience begins tomorrow.
Camel ride: Approx. 1 hour
Today is all about experiencing the magic of the desert. After a leisurely breakfast, we explore the Merzouga region, starting with a visit to Khamlia village, where you’ll be welcomed with Gnawa music and warm hospitality.
You’ll meet nomadic families still living in traditional tents, discover how they live in the harsh desert environment, and even hunt for fossils — a fun and educational stop.
In the late afternoon, it’s time for the highlight: a peaceful camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes. As the sun sets and the colors of the sand change with the light, you’ll reach your Sahara desert camp.
Enjoy a delicious dinner, listen to traditional music around the fire, and spend the night under one of the clearest skies in the world.
Approx. 4 hours drive
After watching the sunrise (highly recommended!), we return by camel to Merzouga and continue our journey. Our first stop is Rissani, the birthplace of Morocco’s royal Alaouite dynasty. You can visit the lively market and try some of the region’s famous dates.
Next, we drive toward the spectacular Todra Gorge, passing through palm groves and Berber villages. In Tinghir, you can take a relaxing walk through the green oasis, following the river to the impressive canyon where cliffs rise up to 300 meters.
After lunch and some free time to enjoy the views, we continue to Dades Valley, a peaceful area known for its strange rock formations and winding roads. It’s the perfect place to end the day and reflect on the adventure so far.
Approx. 6 hours drive
Your final day on this 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech is filled with historic sites and stunning mountain views. We start with a drive through the Valley of the Roses, famous for its fragrant blooms in spring and handcrafted rose water products.
Then we pass through Skoura Oasis, where Kasbah Amridil offers a glimpse into ancient Berber architecture and traditions.
One of the most iconic stops of the day is the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient ksar has served as the backdrop for famous movies and TV shows like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. You’ll have time to explore the narrow alleyways and learn about its rich history.
After lunch, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass — a drive packed with breathtaking views and traditional Berber villages. By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in vibrant Marrakech, where your desert adventure ends.
