Tour Plan
First things first: welcome to Morocco! Once you land in Marrakech, your driver meets you at the airport and takes you to a charming riad. Next, you'll drop your bags, freshen up, and wander the nearby lanes if you feel curious. Later, you'll share dinner with the group, so the friendships begin before the trek does.
Early in the morning, you'll leave Marrakech and climb toward the Tizi n'Tichka pass, which rises to 2,260 meters. Along the way, kasbahs, palm groves, and sleepy villages slide past your window. After a tea stop and a relaxed lunch in Ouarzazate, you'll continue toward Zagora. Once you reach Foum Lachaar, you'll meet your camel team, your guide, and your cook. Then, as the sun sets, a gentle first yoga session melts away the long drive before you drift off in a cozy tent.
At dawn, an hour of yoga and breathwork wakes up your body. After breakfast, you'll climb the Foum Lachaar pass and then wander through rocky desert and canyons at the foot of the Djebel Bani. Meanwhile, the camels carry your bags, so your only job is to enjoy the view. After a shady lunch and a quiet rest, you'll walk on to a riverside camp where the air feels greener, and your yoga instructor leads a sunset session. By then, your phone has gone silent, and honestly, that feels like a gift.
Next, you'll follow a winding riverbed where the scenery seems to change every hour. Along the way, you may spot old wells, grazing animals, and nomads going about their day. Then, after about four hours of walking, you'll stop for lunch, and depending on the season, you can even cool off in a small pond nearby. After that, you'll head up to the Hnina plateau for your last wild camp. Finally, your yoga instructor guides a golden-hour session, and you might catch a bar of phone signal, though it's much nicer to ignore it.
After a sunrise stretch and breakfast, you'll cross a wide stony plateau while the horizon slowly fills with sand. Then, once you stop for lunch under big shady trees, the dunes rise ahead like waves frozen in gold. Meanwhile, you'll meet nomadic families who sell small handmade items, so a purchase here truly helps them. Finally, after about two more hours of walking, you'll reach a camp tucked among the dunes, where real beds are waiting. There, a crew of former nomads welcomes you with tea as the sun slips behind the sand.
After days of walking, you've earned a slow morning. Then, choose your adventure: ride a camel at sunset, climb the 300-meter dune (the highest in the Moroccan Sahara), or try sandboarding. Meanwhile, your yoga instructor hosts longer yoga sessions and small workshops based on what the group wants to explore. Once night falls, the Milky Way often lights up the sky, especially when the moon is shy. Finally, a closing Yin yoga session and a fire with Berber songs wrap up this Morocco yoga retreat in the most magical way.
After breakfast, you'll say goodbye to the dunes and bounce along the old Paris-Dakar track by 4x4. Next, you'll pass Lake Iriki and reach Foum Zguid, which takes about three hours. Then, you'll cross a moon-like landscape and stop for lunch in Tazenakht, a town famous for its carpets. Later, you'll arrive in Ouarzazate, where dinner and a comfortable room await. Also, if you fancy it, you can join an optional tour of the famous film studios.
After breakfast, your driver takes you back to Marrakech, which takes about four hours with a break halfway. Once you arrive, you'll have free time to shop for souvenirs or wander the souks one last time. Then, depending on your flight, you'll transfer to the airport. Above all, you'll head home lighter, calmer, and full of desert stories.
