Tour Plan
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora – Tamgrout – Erg Chigaga Luxury Camp
Your magical journey starts in Ouarzazate, often called the "Hollywood of Morocco." From here, we’ll set off along the winding road that leads through the breathtaking Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s longest river. Along the way, you'll marvel at endless palm groves, ancient kasbahs, and remote Berber villages tucked into the valley's rugged landscape.
We’ll continue to Zagora, the gateway to the desert. Here, time slows down, and the scent of spices fills the air. You’ll have a chance to explore local markets and meet artisans who keep centuries-old traditions alive.
Next, we visit Tamgrout, a hidden gem famous for its green-glazed pottery and its mysterious underground library that houses rare Islamic manuscripts.
Now comes the special part: we will whisk you deep into the dunes for a private desert picnic, set up just for you among the golden sands – a moment to remember! After lunch, enjoy a fun and interactive desert cooking class with our nomadic chef, learning how to prepare an authentic Moroccan tajine using traditional techniques.
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the iconic Erg Chigaga Luxury Camp. As the sun sets, settle into your elegant tent before gathering around the campfire for a traditional Moroccan dinner beneath the stars.
Day 2: Erg Chigaga – Nomad Visit – Desert Activities – Another Night Under the Stars
Your day begins with a peaceful sunrise over the towering dunes, followed by a hearty breakfast at the camp. Today is all about connecting with the heart of the Sahara.
We’ll start by visiting a nomadic family who live deep within the desert, where you’ll gain insight into their simple yet rich lifestyle. Share mint tea, listen to their stories, and experience Berber hospitality firsthand.
The adventure continues with optional activities: hop on a camel trek across the vast dunes, try your hand at sandboarding, or simply relax at the luxury camp.
Later in the afternoon, return to camp for a second magical evening. Enjoy another mouthwatering Moroccan dinner, and gather by the fire as Berber musicians share their rhythms under the glittering desert sky.
Day 3: Erg Chigaga – Iriki Lake – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech
After breakfast, we’ll leave the dunes behind and journey through the dramatic landscapes of Iriki Lake, a dry salt lake that stretches across the desert floor like a mirage.
We’ll continue to Foum Zguid, a quiet desert town, before heading to Taznakht, renowned for its handcrafted Berber carpets. Here, you can browse local weaving workshops and perhaps take home a piece of Morocco’s artistic heritage.
Finally, we’ll drive onward to Marrakech, where your desert odyssey comes to a close – but the memories will stay with you forever.
