Tour Plan
Your Morocco desert journey begins in Marrakech, the city of colors and culture. After meeting your driver, you’ll head toward the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you'll pass over the scenic Tizi n'Tichka pass, where the views will already have you reaching for your camera.
By midday, you’ll arrive at the breathtaking Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient clay kasbah has stood for centuries and is famous for being a filming location for many Hollywood movies. After exploring its winding alleys, we continue through Ouarzazate and drive toward Agdz, a quiet town at the edge of the Draa Valley.
In Agdz, you’ll spend the night at a beautiful riad tucked between palm trees and peaceful surroundings. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and rest up—your desert adventure is just getting started.
After breakfast, we follow the path of the Draa River, Morocco’s longest river, as it winds through lush date palms and kasbah-dotted villages. Along the way, we’ll stop in Zagora, a lively desert town that once marked the starting point for caravans heading to Timbuktu.
Next, we visit Tamegroute, a hidden gem known for its ancient Quranic library and green pottery workshops. You’ll see how skilled artisans shape and fire pottery by hand, just like their ancestors did centuries ago.
From here, the road becomes wilder as we drive past M’Hamid, the last town before the real Morocco desert begins. The paved road ends—and your off-road adventure begins.
You’ll cross dry riverbeds and wide open spaces until we reach your private desert camp near the towering dunes of Erg Chigaga, the highest dunes in Morocco. After settling into your tent, enjoy a delicious dinner by the campfire under the stars. Live traditional music, warm mint tea, and the silence of the desert will make this a night to remember.
Wake up to the soft glow of the desert morning and a hearty breakfast. Today, we dive deeper into desert life. First, we’ll visit a nearby secret oasis, a peaceful spot hidden between the dunes where palm trees grow tall and water flows softly underground.
From there, you’ll visit a local nomadic family, where you’ll be welcomed with mint tea and a smile. Learn about their daily life in the Sahara, hear their stories, and join in a unique experience: baking traditional desert bread (Mella) right in the sand.
Later in the day, return to your camp for some well-earned rest. In the evening, take a gentle walk up the tallest dune in Morocco for an unforgettable sunset. As the colors shift across the sands, you’ll feel a deep sense of calm and awe. After sunset, dinner is served under a million stars while soft music plays around the fire.
Start your day early with a peaceful camel ride at sunrise. The golden light spreading over the dunes is a magical sight and the rhythm of your camel makes it all the more serene.
After breakfast, we head out to a nearby desert nature reserve where you’ll enjoy a laid-back picnic lunch. Keep your eyes open—you might spot wild gazelles, ostriches, or even a desert fox!
In the afternoon, head back to camp and get ready for an exciting ride: quad biking through the dunes at sunset. The wind in your face, the soft sand beneath your wheels, and the sun dipping low behind the dunes—it’s the kind of thrill you’ll never forget.
As night falls, enjoy your final dinner in the Morocco desert, with music, firelight, and that magical desert silence all around.
On your final day, we begin the journey back to Marrakech—but the adventure isn’t over yet.
First, we drive across the dried-out bed of Lake Iriki, a surreal landscape that feels like another planet. From there, continue to Foum Zguid, a small desert town on the edge of the Sahara. You’ll also visit Taznakht, a town famous for its handmade Berber carpets. Stop by a women’s weaving cooperative to see the colors and patterns come to life.
In the late afternoon, we arrive back in Marrakech, where your desert adventure ends. But the memories? They’ll stay with you forever.
